Sculpture: acrylic, sound, black light

Oasis (2025) is an immersive visual experience that utilizes acrylic cubes in different sizes, lighting, bright colors, black lights, sound, and mirrors to create a combined experience of childhood and adulthood at play. The work combines the building blocks we play with and use as tools to grow and learn when we are very young children with bright, vibrant colors more typically seen at nightclubs or dancehalls. A room filled with mirrors multiplies the colors and shapes, filling the space with movement, and suggesting that the experience is replicated and ongoing. The goal of Oasis (2025) is simply to stay young at heart. No matter how old you get, don't let your childhood experiences of play recess to the back of your mind.
